Punjab's Road Infrastructure to be Strengthened with ₹814 Crore Central Assistance : Hardev Singh Ubha

Increase in Commission for Commission Agents is a Farmer-Friendly Decision; Mann Government Has Failed on Every Front.

Chandigarh 20 March ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : State Press Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party Punjab, Hardev Singh Ubbha, while thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said that after the funds received from the Centre for roads by the AAP government in Punjab lapsed due to non-spending of funds on time, the Central Government's release of ₹814 crore for Punjab once again is a significant and commendable step.

He stated that this central assistance would strengthen Punjab's road infrastructure and lead to an improvement in amenities for the general public. Ubbha appealed to the Punjab government to ensure the speedy completion of development works by utilizing the funds received from the Centre correctly and in a timely manner.

He also thanked the Modi government at the Centre for the decision to increase the commission for commission agents from ₹46 to ₹50.75 per quintal. He stated that this decision is set to strengthen the economic condition of farmers and commission agents, and will further reinforce the agricultural system.

Ubbha alleged that the Bhagwant Mann government in Punjab is proving to be a failure on every front. Delays in development works, the improper utilization of central funds, and the failure to fulfill promises made to the public reflect the failure of this government. He stated that while, on one hand, the Central Government is continuously extending support for the development of Punjab, the State Government has failed to fulfill its responsibilities.
