Chandigarh 16 March ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The 39th edition of the St. John’s Old Boys’ Association (SJOBA) Annual Extreme Rally, presented by Robins Machines, concluded on Sunday after three days of high-octane motorsport action across Punjab and Himachal terrain. The rally began with a ceremonial flag-off at St. John’s High School, Sector 26, Chandigarh, and brought together competitors from across the country in one of India’s oldest and most respected motorsport events. Now in its 39th year, the rally once again upheld its legacy of endurance, discipline and competitive spirit. Conducted under the regulations and safety protocols of the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI), the event maintained strict sporting and safety standards throughout the competition.

Around 110 competitors participated in the rally, including about 25 four-wheelers and 60 two-wheelers, navigating 12 special stages over three demanding days. The rally route passed through Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Nawanshahr and Hoshiarpur and, for the first time, extended to UNA, introducing a fresh terrain profile and new challenges for the participants. One of the major highlights of this year’s edition was the return of the much-awaited Night Stage, which tested drivers’ navigation skills, concentration and machine control under limited visibility conditions.

In the Four-Wheeler Overall Category, Rajiv Yadav and Rohit Gowda emerged as the winners. Harpreet Bhola and Vikram Thakur secured the first runner-up position, while Harvinder Bhola and Amber Udasi finished as the second runner-up. In the Moto Overall Category, Dhritimaan Singh clinched the top position. Nitish Bharadwaj finished as the first runner-up, while Happy Verma secured the second runner-up position. The course featured a challenging mix of non-concrete stretches, riverbeds, fast tarmac sections and technical hilly terrain, requiring competitors to demonstrate both speed and precision.

The rally concluded on Sunday evening in Chandigarh, followed by the prize distribution ceremony at the Chandigarh Golf Range, where winners across categories were awarded cash prizes exceeding ₹2.5 lakh. Extensive safety and medical arrangements were deployed throughout the rally route, including dedicated medical teams, ambulances and First Intervention Vehicles (FIVs), ensuring quick response capability at every stage. With its blend of challenging terrain, professional organization and enthusiastic participation from across the country, the 39th SJOBA Extreme Rally once again reinforced Chandigarh’s status as a key hub for motorsport in India.
