Victim deserves justice : Warring
Demands High Court monitored probe
Chandigarh 21 March ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today expressed profound grief over the suicide of Warehouse Corporation District Manager Dr Gagan Randhawa. He expressed his condolences to the bereaved family and demanded justice for the victim. He assured that the Congress party stands by the victim's family and will do everything to ensure justice. On the resignation of the concerned minister Laljit Singh Bhullar, who has been named by the victim official, Warring said, the matter must be probed independently as why and how an officer was forced to take such an extreme step to kill himself.
He demanded that in order to ensure fair investigation, there should be a court monitored probe under supervision of a sitting High Court judge. He pointed out, Bhullar is an influential leader of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party, hence there will be no credibility of the investigation done by the state government. “Justice must not only be done, it should also seem to have been done”, he remarked. The PCC president noted that the incident has exposed and blasted the myths of the ‘corruption-free’ government of the AAP and only revealed how deep the government is in the muck of corruption and officers like Gagandeep are made to pay with their life.
