Rs 22 Crores worth GST evasion unearthed by CGST Ludhiana; Arrested one
Ludhiana 14 March ( PDL ) : In a significant breakthrough against the efforts to curb GST fake billing scam, CGST Ludhiana busted a fake GST firm involved in issuing bogus GST invoices in iron & steel sector based in Mandi Gobindgarh, District Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab.
Investigation revealed that the firm has received and passed on ineligible Input Tax Credit worth Rs. 22.13 Crores and thus evading GST. The proprietor of the firm was arrested on 12.03.2026 and sent for judicial custody. The CGST Ludhiana Commissionerate reaffirms its commitment to detecting tax frauds and thus ensuring level playing field for honest taxpayers.
