AAP hatching conspiracy with anti-national elements to disturb Punjab : Tarun Chugh
AAP ministers and leaders in Punjab have opened “torture centres” in their homes for extortion : Chugh
Amritsar/Chandigarh 04 April ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the Bhagwant Mann–Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP government during a massive protest held at Hall Gate in Amritsar. Chugh alleged that the AAP government is conspiring with anti-national elements to create an atmosphere of fear and instability in Punjab for electoral gains. He said that even in 2014, Arvind Kejriwal had faced allegations of aligning with anti-national elements, and the same pattern is now being repeated in Punjab. Launching a sharp attack, Chugh said that AAP ministers and leaders in Punjab have allegedly turned their homes into “torture centres” for extortion and intimidation. He said misuse of state power has become rampant, with ordinary citizens being harassed, threatened, and humiliated, creating a deep sense of fear across the state. He urged the Central government to keep a close watch on the situation, given Punjab’s sensitivity as a border state. Referring to recent incidents, Chugh said that repeated grenade attacks on police stations, the desecration of Baba Saheb Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s statue in Hoshiarpur, and the attack on the BJP office in Chandigarh clearly point to a deliberate and coordinated conspiracy to disturb peace and communal harmony in Punjab.
He further alleged that the AAP government is openly patronising gangsters, criminals, and mafia networks, due to which law and order in the state has completely deteriorated. Referring to the DM Gagandeep Singh Randhawa case, Chugh demanded a fair and impartial investigation and raised serious questions over the VIP treatment allegedly being extended to former minister Laljit Singh Bhullar in jail. “Why is an accused being given VIP facilities in jail? Why has his mobile phone not yet been seized? Why has his father not been arrested yet?” Chugh asked. He also alleged that the voices of victims are being suppressed and that even the electricity connections of affected families are being cut off to silence them.
Chugh said the public anger was evident at the protest, which was attended by Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar, Working President Ashwani Sharma, Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu, and hundreds of BJP workers. Describing the AAP government as inefficient, arrogant, and authoritarian, Chugh said it has completely failed to protect law and order, Dalit dignity, and democratic values in Punjab. “This is not merely a protest. It is a decisive battle to protect Punjab’s identity, democracy, and justice. The people of Punjab have made up their mind that in 2027 they will uproot this misgovernance and restore true Swaraj,” he said.
