Chandigarh 08 April ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : More than 500 activists of the Students Organisation of India, the student body of the Shiromani Akali Dal, today courted arrest while marching to the residence of chief minister Bhagwant Mann to protest against his malicious comments against the organization. The SOI members started their protest from Sector 11 and marched towards the residence of the chief minister. They were met with barricades and were rounded up and taken to the Sector 3 police station. SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal also spoke to the activists on video call and commended their efforts to hold the chief minister to account for making defamatory remarks. More than 500 activists of SOI court arrest while marching in protest to CM residence in Chandigarh.
Chandigarh 08 April ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : More than 500 activists of the Students Organisation of India, the student body of the Shiromani Akali Dal, today courted arrest while marching to the residence of chief minister Bhagwant Mann to protest against his malicious comments against the organization.

Later talking to newsmen, SOI president Ranjit Singh Rana said Bhagwant Mann had taken politics to a new low by trying to brand educated youth as drug addicts. Asserting that the chief minister should first assess his own character before making such remarks, Mr Rana said “we will continue to hold protests against the chief minister until and unless he apologises for his mischievous remarks”.
