Kharge’s remarks are divisive, inflammatory, and detrimental to democratic politics : Devshali
Chandigarh 08 April ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Former Municipal Councillor Shakti Prakash Devshali has strongly condemned Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge for comparing the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and the Bharatiya Janata Party to a “poisonous snake” during an election speech, describing the comment as irresponsible, divisive, provocative, and detrimental to democratic politics.
Devshali said that by likening the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and the Bharatiya Janata Party to a poisonous snake and urging people to “leave the namaz and kill this poisonous snake,” Congress President Kharge has given the impression that the Congress party and its leaders are trying to incite Hindu–Muslim riots in the country. Such statements prove that the powerless Congress leaders, already rejected by the people of the country in various regions, have lost their mental balance and can stoop to the lowest level in their lust for power. In a democracy, ideological opponents must be challenged through debate, public service, and elections, not through language that creates bitterness and hostility in society.
Devshali stated that toxic and inflammatory language cannot be justified in political rivalry, as it sends a dangerous message to society that is detrimental to the unity and integrity of the country. He demanded that Mallikarjun Kharge immediately apologise to the nation, to the swayamsewaks of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, and to the activists of the Bharatiya Janata Party for this highly objectionable statement. He also urged the Election Commission and the concerned authorities to seriously examine the matter and take strict action in accordance with the law.
