SAD to approach High Court on discrepancies in voters list for MC elections
Attempts being made to hide corruption of more than Rs. 900 crore : NK Sharma
Chandigarh 21 April ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Shiromani Akali Dal will approach Punjab and Haryana High Court on discrepancies in voters list for Municipal Corporation and Municipal Committees elections in the coming days as the ruling AAP government trying to hide corruption worth more than Rs. 900 crore done by them. This was stated by Senior SAD leader and party Treasurer Mr. NK Sharma here today.
Talking to media after meeting Chie Election officer of Punjab here today, SAD leader said that it was shocking and surprising to note that after indulging in corruption worth Rs. 900 crore through officers of the MCs, not the government was trying to win MC elections by manipulating voter’s list. He said that he was surprised to see that voters of MC Mohali and MC Kharar have been added in voter list of Zirakpur. Similarly voter’s name from Dera Bassi have been added in Zirakpur list and voter’s list from Zirakpur has been shifted to elsewhere.
He said that there are more than 500 to 4500 voter’s list name which are not of concerned wards but the government wants to befool voters only to win this election by proxy. He said that SAD will not allow such a foul play by the ruling AAP and Congress which ruled earlier. He said that were have already submitted complaint to the CEO in written and now approach High Court to get justice in the matter as we have no hope from the election officer of the state. He said that SAD will sweep these elections as people were fed up from the current dispensation and people want to shunt them out.
