Swallowed denture removed from food pipe with advanced therapeutic endoscopy Khanna 29 June ( PDL ) : A swallowed denture, lodged in a patient's food pipe was removed by doctors at Livasa Hospital Khanna through an advanced therapeutic endoscopy by preventing the need for surgical intervention. A 45-year-old male patient was brought to Livasa with an accidental denture ingestion. Upon evaluation, an urgent upper gastrointestinal endoscopy was performed by Dr. Pulkit Dhiman, consultant gastroenterologist, which revealed the denture impacted in the mid-esophagus (food pipe). Using advanced endoscopic techniques, Dr. Dhiman carefully maneuvered the foreign body into the stomach and subsequently retrieved it with a specialized Roth net, ensuring safe removal without any complications.
