Chandigarh 12 April ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The two-day national convention of the All India Kshatriya Mahasabha, held on April 11 and 12, concluded today. Various issues related to the Kshatriya community were seriously discussed during the two-day convention. During the convention, National President Dr. Raja Manvendra Singh—a three-time Member of Parliament from Mathura—announced the appointment of Yuvraj Rishiraj Singh as the National Executive President. Additionally, Tikka Shivendra Pal Kutlehar was declared the National President of the Youth Wing, and Indu Tomar was declared the National President of the Women's Wing.On this occasion, members of the Kshatriya community from across the country participated enthusiastically, including Vijay Singh Songara (National Vice President), Gajendra Singh Rana (Chandigarh President), Yashpal Rana (Haryana President), Kamnesh Dhalaria (Chandigarh Secretary), Aman Ram (Chandigarh Vice President), Umesh Singh Rana (Punjab Youth President), Sahil Singh Rathore (Punjab Youth Vice President), and Kunwar Neeraj Singh. Representatives from all 24 states participated in this event, including youth and women.
National President Dr. Raja Manvendra Singh stated that various issues concerning the Kshatriya community were discussed in detail during the two-day convention. He outlined the main agenda points—which were deliberated upon with seriousness and depth—as follows: replacing caste-based reservation with an economic basis; repealing the Atrocities Act (SC-ST Act); securing approval from the Government of India for declaring a national holiday on the birth anniversary of Maharana Pratap; providing educational assistance to underprivileged students within the community; engaging in continuous correspondence with the Government of India to urge a reconsideration of UGC regulations; ensuring the inclusion of Kshatriya history in school curricula; preserving and promoting Kshatriya history; upholding and propagating Kshatriya culture, ethics, education, and traditions; serving as an apex body to facilitate effective coordination among Kshatriya organizations spread across the country; and working towards Kshatriya unity as well as social and economic upliftment.
He pointed out that since the country's independence in 1947, no individual from the Kshatriya community has received the Bharat Ratna. This is despite the fact that the Kshatriya community played a pivotal role in the nation's struggle for independence and in confronting the Mughals. Furthermore, he urged that the contribution of Kshatriyas to the nation's history be detailed comprehensively within the educational curriculum, so that future generations of the country may become well-acquainted with Kshatriya history. Additionally, he called upon the Department of Archaeology to undertake the preservation of historical sites and artifacts associated with the community. He mentioned that, during the convention, discussions were also held regarding initiatives to provide free education and financial assistance to children from poor and needy families. Moreover, appeals were made to organize mass weddings for young men and women from underprivileged families, alongside providing them with financial support. The need to organize a greater number of health camps was also emphasized, with the aim of ensuring that everyone remains conscious of their health.
The newly appointed National Executive President, Yuvraj Rishiraj Singh, stated that unemployment is currently a critical issue facing the country. In this regard, a tour will be undertaken across India to raise awareness among the general public and the youth. The UGC issue was also discussed in depth. He noted that there are 240 million Rajputs across India, and their unity was a key topic of discussion. He outlined the organization's objectives, which include working towards the protection of the nation, nature, and culture; undertaking the restoration and preservation of heritage forts, palaces, and monuments established by the Kshatriyas; working to eradicate alcohol abuse, the dowry system, and the practice of *Mrityu Bhoj* (post-demise feasts), while simultaneously promoting broader social reforms; affiliating individuals working for the welfare of society with the All India Kshatriya Mahasabha; striving to construct memorials for eminent personalities and *Kshatriya Bhavans* (community centers) in every state of the country; and working towards the unity and sovereignty of all sections of society within the nation.
Tikka Shivendra Pal Kutlehar expressed his gratitude to the top leadership upon his appointment as National Treasurer, stating that, in collaboration with the State President, efforts would be made to engage the younger generation to the fullest extent and familiarize them with the history of the community. Upon her appointment as the National President of the Women's Wing, Indu Tomar stated that she would discharge the responsibility entrusted to her with complete dedication and a profound sense of duty. She noted that the convention featured discussions regarding the grassroots-level work undertaken by the Women's Wing over the past year. Furthermore, deliberations were held concerning the recruitment of new female members and strategies to further engage women within the community. Additionally, the issue of women's role—in the current context—in the breakdown of families was placed before the gathering as a matter of serious concern. Discussions were also held on the importance of raising awareness among women to prevent divorce and preserve the integrity of the family unit.
