Paras Health Panchkula Successfully Performs Robotic-Assisted Surgery to Treat 34-Year-Old Woman with Multiple Large Uterine Fibroids
Panchkula 14 April ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Demonstrating advanced surgical expertise and patient-centric care, Dr. Amber Aggarwal, Senior Consultant, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and Dr. Ishaan Allahabadi, Senior Consultant - Surgical Oncology at Paras Health, Panchkula, successfully treated a 34-year-old woman with complex uterine fibroids while preserving her fertility. The patient presented with severe dysmenorrhea, persistent abdominal pain, and pelvic pressure impacting her daily life. Investigations revealed multiple fibroids, the largest measuring nearly 10 × 10 cm. Despite being advised a hysterectomy elsewhere, the team opted for a fertility-preserving approach. She underwent a robotic myomectomy using the advanced Da Vinci Xi robotic system, during which approximately 20 fibroids were successfully removed with high precision. The surgery was complication-free, and the patient recovered quickly, resuming normal activities within hours and being discharged the next day. She is now symptom-free and has resumed regular menstrual cycles.
Dr. Amber Aggarwal said, "This case was particularly significant due to the number and size of fibroids, along with the patient’s strong desire to preserve her fertility. Using robotic-assisted surgery, we were able to precisely remove multiple fibroids while maintaining the integrity of the uterus. The minimally invasive approach enabled accurate removal of the pathology without large incisions, preserving healthy uterine tissue and supporting faster recovery. Such advanced techniques allow us to treat complex cases without compromising future reproductive plans."
Dr. Pankaj Mittal, Facility Director at Paras Health Panchkula, added, "This case reflects our commitment to bringing advanced medical technologies like robotic surgery closer to patients in the region. By combining clinical expertise with patient-centric care, we ensure access to world-class treatment while prioritising outcomes that align with patients’ long-term health and life goals." This outcome reinforces Paras Health Panchkula’s commitment to combining advanced technology with compassionate, patient-focused care.
