Jhinjer's 'Bolega Ghanaur, Badlega Daur' paidal march exposes the silent suffering of people
Ghanaur 31 May ( PDL ) : The 'Bolega Ghanaur, Badlega Daur' paidal march led by Youth Akali Dal president and Ghanaur halqa incharge Sarabjeet Singh Jhinjer entered its second day on Sunday, continuing its march through villages of the Ghanaur constituency. On the second day, the march passed through villages Pabri, Badoli Gujran, Gandeya Kheri, Khanpur Gandeya, Mehmoodpur, Alalmajra, Khairpur, Saidkheri, Khanpur, and Suhro. The march, which commenced on May 30, is scheduled to continue until June 8 and is set to cover over 100 villages across the Ghanaur area. Addressing the media at one of the villages, Jhinjer accused the current and previous governments of exploiting the simple and trusting people of Ghanaur. "The people of Ghanaur are very simple, but they have been looted because of the cleverness of leaders from both the current and previous governments," he said.
Jhinjer claimed that between ₹50 and 60 crore allocated for panchayats in Ghanaur villages had been misappropriated, leaving residents in deplorable conditions. He accused the current government of suppressing the voices of the people and alleged that citizens are being threatened if they speak out against the administration. The Youth Akali Dal leader highlighted several pressing issues plaguing the constituency. He alleged that during the Zila Parishad elections, women were pushed and abused. He further pointed to rampant illegal mining, the non-functioning of MGNREGA, the removal of beneficiaries from the Atta Dal scheme, and a severe lack of drinking water in the area as key concerns that remain unaddressed. Comparing the present situation to the Akali government's tenure between 2007 and 2017, Jhinjer said that villagers previously had direct access to the Chief Minister to seek grants for their villages. "Now things are entirely different — there are no grants, and people are being pushed into misery," he said. Jhinjer noted that the yatra has received an encouraging response from local youth, who are participating in large numbers, and thanked them warmly for their support and enthusiasm. He appealed to the people of Ghanaur to join the yatra in large numbers, calling it not merely a march but a movement for the dignity and rights of every resident of the constituency.
