Rotary Club of Chandigarh and Fortis Hospital Mohali Mark 800th Life-Saving Heart Surgery under Rotary Heartline Project S.A.S.Nagar 8 May ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The Rotary Club of Chandigarh, in partnership with Fortis Hospital, Mohali marked the successful completion of 800th heart surgery under its flagship Rotary Heartline Project. The milestone surgery was performed on 7-year-old child, Abhijot from Behlan Khanpur in Fatehgarh Sahib district, by a team of doctors led by Dr TS Mahant, Executive Director, CTVS and Dr Rajat Gupta, Senior Consultant, Department of Paediatric Cardiac Sciences, Fortis Hospital, Mohali. Abhijot, son of a daily wager, was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect (hole in the heart) and was referred to Fortis Hospital Mohali by the Rotary Club of Kharar to the Heartline team of Rotary Club in Chandigarh. PSSF supports sanitation workers' strike

PSSF supports sanitation workers' strike Chandigarh 7 May ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Punjab Subordinate Services Federation Head Office 1406/22 B supported the sanitation workers' strike and demanded from the Punjab government that the demands of the employees be fulfilled as per the promises made during the elections. Municipal Employees Action Committee Punjab and Safai Sewak Union Punjab have called for an indefinite strike by sanitation workers across Punjab by giving up work on the demand of making casual workers permanent, increasing the minimum wage to Rs. 40,000 and implementing the old pension scheme. Today, more than 140 stations and sanitation workers under corporations, municipal councils and nagar panchayats across Punjab are going on a complete strike.
