Threat to blow up schools in Chandigarh: Written - Blast at 1:11 pm, PM Modi on Punjab visit targeted
Chandigarh 28 January ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Schools in Chandigarh have received a threatening email. Just before Prime Minister Narendra Modi's scheduled visit to Punjab on February 1st, 18 prominent schools in Chandigarh received an email on Wednesday threatening to bomb them. This caused a great commotion in the police administration. As soon as the schools received this email in the morning, the police were immediately informed. Within minutes, an alert was issued from the police control room. Upon receiving the information, the bomb detection team, the operations cell, and the concerned police station personnel reached the spot and began searching all the school premises.
According to police officials, no suspicious objects have been recovered from any school premises so far. The administration has appealed to everyone to maintain peace. Schools have been instructed to immediately report any threatening email or message to the police so that appropriate action can be taken according to the established protocol. Schools are advised not to declare holidays without any valid reason, as such actions can cause unnecessary panic among students, parents, and the general public. All schools are instructed to continue regular classes while remaining vigilant. The threatening message contains inflammatory and offensive remarks, including the phrase "bomb blast @ 1:11."
These schools received threats: Government School Sector-16, 19, 22 and 47, Ryan International School Sector-49, St. Stephen's School Sector-45, KB DAV School Sector-7, Tender Heart School Sector-33, SD School Sector-32, St. Xavier's School Sector-44, Vivek High School Sector-38, Ajit Karam Singh School Sector-41, Ashiana School Sector-46, Bhavan Vidyalaya Sector-27, Saupin's School Sector-32, DPS Sector-40, St. John's School, Sacred Heart School Sector-26, Strawberry Fields School Sector-26, and a total of 18 schools are included.
