He also demanded Rs 50 crore to Rs 70 crores annual research grant for the Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana to improve the research facilities for better agriculture. The Ludhiana MP made a strong case for providing debt relief to the small and marginal farmers through one time settlement by waiving off their interests. Chandigarh 17 March ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The premises of Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management, Catering and Nutrition, Chandigarh, came alive with celebration and enthusiasm as the institute hosted its Annual Day 2026 at the Institute Auditorium. The theme of the event was Tomorrowland, that brought together students, faculty members, and distinguished guests to celebrate the achievements and talents of the institute while reflecting on the year’s accomplishments.
The programme commenced with the welcome of the chief guest, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, IAS, Secretary Tourism, ChandigarhAdministrationand Guest of Honour Mr. Vishal Kalia, Principal, CIHM and other dignitaries, followed by the auspicious Saraswati Vandana, invoking blessings for wisdom and success. The Annual Report was then presented by the Principal, highlighting the institute’s academic achievements, student accomplishments, and milestones over the past year.
Adding colour and vibrancy to the celebration, students presented a captivating Fusion Theme Dance. This was followed by a mesmerizing Classical Jugalbandi, showcasing the richness of Indian classical arts and the remarkable talent of the students.A significant moment of the event was the release of the Institute’s Annual Magazine. The celebration continued with the Awards Ceremony, where outstanding students were honoured for their excellence in academics, co-curricular activities, and overall performance.
The cultural segment continued with a lively Indian Folk Dance. The gathering was then addressed by the Chief Guest, who appreciated the students’ enthusiasm and encouraged them to pursue excellence in their professional journeys.The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks, followed by the National Anthem. Guests and attendees later enjoyed a pleasant High-Tea, marking a perfect end to a memorable celebration.The Annual Day celebration reflected the spirit of unity, creativity, and achievement that defines the institute, leaving everyone inspired and proud to be part of the AIHM family.
