CCTV CAMERAS TO BE INSTALLED IN SECTOR 11
Chandigarh 27 April ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : A delegation of RWA Sector 11, Chandigarh lead by its President I.P. SINGH had a meeting with Manish Tewari, Member of Parliament to discuss various issues pertaining to its Sector. He was accompanied by A.S. Prashar Vice President, Sachin Galav area Councilor and other residents.
The main issues pertained to the deteriorating law and order situation in Chandigarh and Traffic congestion due to PGIMER in and around Market area. The delegation demanded that the entire Sector be covered with CCTV with a Control Room in Police Station Sector 11 to capture the moments of anti social elements, thefts & traffic violations as the same will be helpful to curtail crime and give a sense of security to the Residents. Many crimes go undetected due to lack of evidence and surveillance. Sh. Manish Tewari appreciated the concern raised by the delegation and accepted to provide the same out of his MP Fund. Immediate instructions were issued and an amount of Rs. 10 Lakhs was deposited with the DC Chandigarh to complete this project on priority.
The Traffic/Parking chaos witnessed in and around the market caused by patients and their attendants visiting the neighboring PGI in thousands on a daily basis, who prefer to park their vehicles on the road along the market and road sides. The vehicles are being parked in front of H.No. 1 to 17 and they are unable to move out their vehicles and every day its chaos and fights with the Residents.
Another issue regarding the “BLIND CURVE” due to unauthorized raising of boundary wall of Police Station Sector 11 was also raised since the same was causing accidents.Tewari strongly took up this issue in the Road Safety Meeting held today. The SSP Traffic assured to resolve it and a meeting with I.P. Singh was fixed with him for Tuesday.
