Mohali Phase-6 Residents Hold Protest March, Raise Concerns Over Drugs, Thefts and Civic Issues
S.A.S.Nagar 25 Aptil ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Mohali Residents of Phase-6, Mohali, staged a protest march highlighting a range of civic and law-and-order issues plaguing the area, including the growing menace of drugs, illegal auto operations, overgrown bushes, and rising incidents of theft. The agitated residents urged the police administration to take immediate and strict action to restore safety and normalcy. Members of the Residents Welfare Association (RWA) said that despite repeated complaints, the problems persist, creating fear and inconvenience among locals. They pointed out that dense, unattended bushes have become safe havens for anti-social elements, while frequent thefts have heightened security concerns.
AAP leader R.P. Sharma joined the protest along with RWA representatives and expressed support for the residents. He assured that the matter would be taken up with the concerned authorities on priority. Wing Commander M.S. Mander (Retd) remarked that Phase-6 serves as a gateway to Punjab from Chandigarh and should reflect the state’s pride. “Instead, it gives the impression of a neglected zone.
