Chandigarh Police PCR Team Apprehended Snatchers Who Fled After Stealing Cash
Chandigarh 1 May ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The Chandigarh Police PCR team comprising IC CT Shashank Sharma (3789/CP) and Driver/CT Dinesh (4976/CP) from unit A-35—has performed commendable work by arresting three snatchers who fled after stealing cash. The accused have been identified as Shubham (aged 18), Preet (aged 29), and Gaurav (aged 29); all are residents of House No. 1139, Morigate, Manimajra. A sum of ₹3,000 has also been recovered from their possession.
According to information received from the team, the Control Room received a report at 11:10 PM last night stating that three boys on foot had snatched ₹5,000 from a complainant near the Sheetla Mata Temple and fled towards the unpaved path located near the railway crossing. During the search operation, the three boys were spotted running along the unpaved path. Acting swiftly upon receiving the alert regarding the incident, the PCR vehicle patrolling that area immediately intercepted and cornered them. During interrogation, they confessed to having committed the cash snatching. They were subsequently arrested; their names are: 1. Shubham (aged 18), 2. Preet (aged 29), and 3. Gaurav (aged 29)—all residents of House No. 1139, Morigate, M. Majra. A sum of ₹3,000 was recovered from them. Subsequently, at 11:34 PM, the PCR team handed over the accused to ASI Husinder Rana (2053/CHG) of the IT Park Police Station at the scene of the crime. The IT Park Police Station has registered FIR No. 43 against the accused and has initiated further investigations.
