Rare male breast cancer patient operated upon successfully at Park Nidaan Hospital Sonipat 11 May ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : An extremely rare male breast cancer patient was successfully operated upon by Dr. AK Arun Dhankhar , senior general & laparoscopic surgeon and his team at Park Nidaan Hospital, Sonipat. The patient was suffering from chest lumps, swelling and pain for some time. Initially, he ignored it as a normal problem, but when the problem worsened, he was found to have breast cancer. Dr. Arun Dhankhar said that people usually associate breast cancer only with women whereas men can also develop the disease. However, the disease is extremely rare in men and only about 1% of total breast cancer cases are found in men, he informed. He further said that timely diagnosis and proper treatment led to a successful outcome of surgery. The patient is now healthy. On one hand, the Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Union—along with the Federation of UT Employees and Workers, Chandigarh—is demanding that Anganwadi workers and helpers be paid at "DC rates" (Deputy Commissioner rates), modeled after the systems in Puducherry and Kerala, to commensurate with their ever-increasing workload.
