Punjab State Human Rights Commission includes Editor Karanjit Kaur in its core group team
S.A.S.Nagar 11 May ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : During the Human Rights Leadership Conclave 2026 organized by the Punjab State Human Rights Commission, the Hon'ble Justice Sant Prakash- Chairperson, Justice Gurbir Singh, Member, and Padma Shri Dr. Jatinder Singh Shanti, Member, constituted the core group at the District SAS Nagar level. Editor Karanjit Kaur was included in the core group team. The Hon'ble Justice Harkesh Manuja, Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, attended the conclave as Chief Guest, and the Hon'ble Madam Raj Lali Gill, Chairperson of the Punjab State Commission for Women, the Hon'ble Gurjit Kaur Ruchi Bawa, Vice Chairperson of the Punjab State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Gaurav Yadav, IPS, DGP, Punjab, and Dr. Sagar Preet Hooda, IPS, DGP, Chandigarh, were special guests.
A meeting of the core group members was held in District SAS Nagar, Mohali, where issues related to social issues were discussed. A monthly meeting was also scheduled at this meeting, which will be held on the second Saturday of every month. This meeting also pledged to raise awareness about human rights at the local level, help victims reach the Commission and obtain justice, report cases of human rights violations, and act as a bridge between the Commission and society. All members also appealed to the public to support them in preventing human rights violations.
