Prachin Kala Kendra Organizes a Special Public Awareness Program on "Horn-Free Chandigarh"
Chandigarh 20 May ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : To create awareness and make Chandigarh, the "City Beautiful" known globally for its beauty, a "horn-free Chandigarh," Dr. Malkit Singh Jandiala, Head of the Gurmat Music Department at Prachin Kala Kendra, is organizing a special musical evening, "Shanti Naad," to raise awareness about the importance of unnecessary honking. Dr. Malkit Singh Jandiala, Head of the Gurmat Music Department at Prachin Kala Kendra, and Sajal Kausar, Secretary of the Center, stated that a proposal for a special public awareness campaign on the topic of "Horn-Free Chandigarh" has been submitted to the Center. Understanding the importance of this important and public-friendly initiative, Prachin Kala Kendra has decided to provide its full cooperation and support to this special campaign.
He explained that the primary objective of this program is to raise awareness among citizens about the harmful effects of noise pollution caused by unnecessary honking in Chandigarh, to promote responsible driving, and to establish a peaceful, clean, and disciplined environment. This initiative, in the spirit of the "Swachh Bharat Abhiyan," is a meaningful effort to strengthen civic consciousness and social responsibility in society. Dr. Malkit Singh Jandiala stated that starting next week, volunteers will be standing at intersections across Chandigarh to raise awareness. He added that the SSP of the Chandigarh Traffic Police will also participate in the program. He stated that this is a unique and unique endeavor, and he is confident that this small effort will raise awareness among the people of Chandigarh about noise pollution.
Dr. Malkit Singh Jandiala stated that he will perform Hindustani classical music at this musical evening. He will be accompanied on stage by renowned tabla player Ustad Akram Khan and renowned sarangi player Ustad Murad Ali Khan. Ustad Amjad Ali Khan will perform as a special guest. Dr. Malkit Singh Jandiala further explained that recent studies have shown that excessive honking has become a major cause of increasing noise pollution in Chandigarh. The Ancient Art Centre believes that through public participation and collective efforts, Chandigarh can be established as a peaceful, civilized, and disciplined city, similar to Zurich, which has been ranked among the world's quietest cities by the World Health Organization.
