Gurpreet Singh became the president of Class Four Union - one-sided victory with a majority of 246 votes.
Class Four Union Reg No. 638 elected the post of president by voting, the newly elected president announced the executive.
Chandigarh 16 May ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The election held for the post of head of Class Four Employees Union of the Education Department was completed by voting in the mosque ground. Gurpreet Singh won the election by a landslide, defeating his opponent Suresh Kumar by a margin of 246 votes. A total of 286 votes were cast in the election. There were 266 votes in favor of Gurpreet Singh and only 20 votes in favor of Suresh Kumar. On this occasion, newly elected Pradhan Gurpreet Singh announced his executive committee.
Chairman of Class Four Employees Union Gaya Prasad said that there was a lot of enthusiasm about the election. The election process was conducted in a peaceful and democratic atmosphere, in which the union members actively participated. In the election, three candidates filed nominations for the post of principal. In which Sanjay Kumar, Gurpreet Singh and Suresh Kumar were contenders for the post of President. On the occasion, Sanjay Kumar gave up his candidacy in favor of Gurpreet Singh. He further said that a total of 286 votes were cast in the election. 266 votes were cast in favor of Gurpreet Singh and only 20 votes were cast in favor of Suresh Kumar.
The newly elected President Gurpreet Singh announced a 12-member executive committee in addition to the posts of Mr. Sanjay Kumar Sr. Vice President, Shyam Shankar Vice President, Sanjay Yadav General Secretary, Gulzar Assistant Secretary, Ashok Kumar Press Secretary, Rakesh Kumar Cashier, Anil Kumar Assistant Cashier, Purshottam Prachar Secretary, Kulwant Singh Auditor etc. Emphasis was placed on making the union strong and active by assigning responsibilities to the members on various positions in the executive and all the members who came to cast their votes were greeted by distribution of laddoos.
On this occasion, all the members resolved to work together for the unity of the union, the protection of the rights of the employees and the solution of the problems of the employees. The newly elected president Gurpreet Singh thanked all the members and said that the union and the executive will always struggle to protect the interests of the employees and will work to convey the voice of the employees to the administration. The union members wished the newly elected president and executive and hoped to do positive work in the interest of the employees.
