Warring complains to DGP, SEC against circulation of fake audio
Chandigarh 26 May ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today wrote to the Director General of Punjab Police and the State Election Commission seeking registration of an FIR against all those circulating a fake audio recording attributed to him. In separate complaints to the DGP and the State Election Commission, Warring said that this was a fake audio clip, which had been circulated seven years ago also, to malign and tarnish his image and it was again being circulated now purposely as the elections to the local bodies were being held.
He also expressed shock and surprise that the State SC Commission Chairman had taken ‘suo motto’ notice of the clip, without verifying whether it is genuine or fake. This only proves that there is a definite design behind circulating this clip during the elections, he noted. The PCC president urged both the DGP and the SEC to take strong cognizance of the matter and direct the relevant authorities to register an FIR and find out the culprits.
“Today or tomorrow, eventually we will identify and find out the culprits behind this malicious campaign against me and deal with them strictly according to law”, he asserted, while adding, he will be proceeding with legal action against all those involved in it.
