The event witnessed the remarkable presence of athletes, sports enthusiasts, and distinguished dignitaries. Union Minister of State and Member of Parliament S.P. Ten X U Adoption Drive Launched at Guru Nanak Public School Cricket Academy; Sawan and Abhay Receive Cricket Kits
Chandigarh 1 June ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The Ten X U Adoption Drive was formally launched during a special ceremony held at the cricket academy of Guru Nanak Public School. As part of the initiative, two budding cricketers, Sawan and Abhay Gulia, were adopted under the programme and presented with complete cricket kits, including shoes.
Speaking on the occasion, Jagteshwar Singh, the creator of the adoption drive, said that the initiative aims to provide essential sporting resources to talented but economically disadvantaged players. He emphasized that no deserving young cricketer should be deprived of pursuing the sport due to a lack of equipment or financial constraints. He added that more promising players would be identified and supported in the future.
The occasion also marked the inauguration of the seven-day Under-13 Junior Premier League at the GNPS Cricket Academy. The tournament commenced at 11:15 a.m., with enthusiastic participation from young cricketers representing various teams. Organisers said the league would offer a competitive platform for emerging players while helping them enhance their cricketing skills and gain valuable match experience. The event witnessed the presence of players, parents, coaches and cricket enthusiasts, who came together to encourage and support the young participants.
