Commencement of repair work for the installation of paver blocks around 14 parks in Sector 36

Chandigarh 25 April ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Thanks to the continuous efforts of Jasbir Singh Bunty—the diligent and popular Councilor of Ward No. 24, who has given a new direction to the area's development—repair work on the dilapidated paver blocks surrounding the parks in Sector 36 commenced today near the Gugga Mari Temple in Sector 36-B. This significant project, which had suffered from years of neglect, was finally initiated by Councilor Jasbir Singh Bunty after he secured its approval on a priority basis. This will directly benefit thousands of residents of Sectors 36 A, B, C, and D.

On this occasion, the residents of the area expressed their gratitude to Councilor Jasbir Singh Bunty, stating that the pace of development works witnessed in the ward over the recent past has never been seen before. People remarked that, for the first time, the ward has found a councilor who does not merely offer assurances but demonstrates results through concrete work on the ground.

SDO Sahil stated that this entire development work is being executed at an estimated cost of approximately ₹24 lakh, and the contractor is required to complete it within the next four months. Under this project, repairs will be carried out on the damaged paver blocks, edgings, and surrounding areas of a total of 14 parks located across Sectors 36-A, B, C, and D. He further explained that the work will utilize a mix of new and old materials in a 70:30 ratio, thereby ensuring the judicious utilization of public funds.

Paramjit Singh, President of the Residents' Welfare Society, Sector 36-B, stated that the repair work surrounding the parks was carried out approximately 20 years ago, after which no one paid any further attention to it. However, ever since Councilor Jasbir Singh Bunty took charge of the ward, its landscape has begun to transform. Roads, parks, sanitation, streetlights, and community amenities—continuous development work is now underway in every sector.

He stated that the residents of the area have now begun to clearly realize that if a Councilor is honest, responsible, and remains accessible to the public, both the condition and the trajectory of the ward undergo a complete transformation. Jasbir Singh Bunty has proven that if a public representative possesses the necessary willpower, even projects that have remained pending for years can be completed with remarkable speed.

Residents of the area stated that broken paver blocks previously caused immense difficulty for the elderly, women, and children in accessing the parks; however, with the completion of this project, not only will the people find relief, but the aesthetic appeal of the entire sector will also be significantly enhanced. On this occasion, a large number of local residents were present, including Advocate Surjit Singh Salar, Ravindra Parhar, J.S. Walia, Bhupinder Walia, Rajkumar Sharma, R.S. Tomar, J.E. Suresh Kumar, Yogesh Gupta, and contractors.
