Balbir Sidhu raises awareness across villages of Mohali against GMADA, Punjab Government’s high-handedness “Appeals to join the protest in large numbers on April 6” S.A.S.Nagar 03 April ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Senior Congress leader and former Health Minister of Punjab, Balbir Singh Sidhu, is visiting villages and raising awareness among people against the high-handedness of the government and GMADA, while also informing farmers about their rights. During this outreach, he appeals to people to participate in large numbers in the protest scheduled for April 6. Sidhu said that the current government is committing injustice against farmers through GMADA, and these policies are directly anti-farmer. He alleged that the government is acquiring land from farmers without providing adequate compensation, which is completely unjust and arbitrary. Harvinder Pal Singh elected President of Physically Handicapped Association; Harmesh Kumar Kuradi appointed Chairman

Chandigarh 03 April ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : A meeting of the Physically Handicapped Association, Punjab and Chandigarh, was held today at the Community Centre, Sector 41, to elect office bearers of the organization. Harvinder Pal Singh was unanimously elected as President, replacing Vinod Nagpal.

In addition, Veena Devi was appointed as District Secretary, Amritjeet Singh as Joint Secretary, Ravinder Singh as Treasurer, Ramesh Kumar as Press Secretary, and Ravi as Advisor. Rakesh Dhiman, Kulwant Kaur, Rinku Sharma, Arun Kumar, Surinder Singh, and Avtar Singh were appointed as Executive Members. Finally, all elected members unanimously appointed Harmesh Kumar Kuradi as Chairman.

During the meeting, newly elected President Harvinder Pal Singh and Chairman Harmesh Kumar Kuradi stated that they would effectively raise the issues of persons with disabilities before the Chandigarh Administration. They also held detailed discussions with the members regarding their challenges and rights, assuring them of continuous efforts to ensure effective implementation of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 in Chandigarh.
