Chandigarh 26 May ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The Directorate of Income Tax (Intelligence & Criminal Investigation), Chandigarh organized an Outreach Programme under the nationwide campaign of PRARAMBH, 2026 on 25.05.2026 under the guidance of Rohit Sharma, IRS, Director of Income Tax (I&CI), Chandigarh, and Gagan Kundra, IRS, Additional, Director of Income Tax (I&CI), Chandigarh at Chandigarh and Faridabad. The programme was conducted with the assistance of the Chandigarh Branch of NIRC of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) at Chandigarh and Faridabad Branch.. The seminar witnessed active participation from Members of ICAI, Members of the Bar Association, bankers, and tehsildars.
The program was organized with the objective of imparting clarity on the provisions of new Income Tax Act, 2025 and new Income Tax Rules, 2026 & New Forms 97, 98, 165, 166 & 167 relating to Filing of SFT & SRA in respect of I & CI Directorate. An important component of the outreach initiative was the demonstration of the AI-enabled "Kar Sathi" chatbot. The functionality and utility of the chatbot were explained to the attendees that the AI-enabled chatbot "Kar Sathi" is readily accessible on the official departmental website, www.incometaxindia.gov.in. Accordingly, a dedicated desk on "KAR SATHI" was set up to give the participants an immersive experience on the new Al tools available on Income Tax Website.
The participants were sensitized regarding the time and manner of filing of Statement of Financial Transactions (SFT) under Rule 114E of the Income-tax Act, 1961. They were also encouraged to ensure timely and accurate filing of SFTs for the Financial Year 2025-26 on or before 31st May, 2026.
During the seminar, Sarita Aggarwal, IRS. Assistant Director of Income Tax (I&CI), Chandigarh provided detailed insights into the key features of the New Income Tax Act, 2025, the role of the Directorate of I&CI, and compliance requirements relating to SFT filings and at Faridabad, Vikas Parihar, Income Tax Officer (I&CI), Faridabad, addressed the session. An interactive session was also held wherein Sarita Aggarwal, IRS, addressed and clarified various queries raised by the participants. The programme concluded with an emphasis on strengthening collaboration with stakeholders to ensure better compliance and effective implementation of the provisions of the Income Tax Act.
