NZCC to host two-day music -n-dance fest from June 6
Entry to be free for visitors
Patiala 30 May ( PDL ) : The North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC), Ministry of Culture, Government of India, will host a two-day festival of music and dance, christened 'Rhythmia' - Rhythm of music and dance - at the historic Kalidasa Auditorium, Patiala, here on June 6 and 7. The daily timings of the fest will be 6:30 pm, onwardsThe festival will feature some of the leading music maestroes of Hindustani classical music and dance forms, bringing live the rich cultural traditions steeped in musical history of the country.
On the inaugural day of the two-day fascinating fiesta of music and dance (June 6), a power-packed recital by Padma Shri Dr. Ashwin M. Dalvi, an iconic Surbahar player, will set the ball rolling for a more breezy evening for music- lovers of the City Royale. which will be followed by Santosh Nair’s acclaimed national award-winning dance-theatre work 'The Game of Dice', which would be a treat to watch.
The concluding day (June 7), will feature Pandit Subhash Ghosh, a leading exponent of the Agra gharana, who will present his compositions marked by intricate patterns of the craft, offering a sneak-peak into our rich musical past. The finale to the musical fare will feature Dr. Sameera Koser, an accomplished Kathak danceuse of the prominent Lucknow gharana , whose thematic suite will interweave the subtle nuances and niceties of the the classical dance form.

Furqan Khan, Director, NZCC, on the occasion said: "Rhythmia", conceptualised to unfold the intellectual and aesthetic rigours of our cultural folk traditions, is an impassioned endeavour of the NZCC to connecting the younger generations to our rich cultural roots, by creating an ambient backdrop through such theme initiatives" Khan called upon city folks to come along with their families and friends, to be a part of the soiree of music and dance"
