Peaceful Protest on 18 June Over Pending Demands of NHM Employees
Chandigarh 4 June ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The Chandigarh NHM Employees Union will organize a peaceful protest on 18 June 2026 from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the Main Gate of GMSH-16, Chandigarh. Union President Babita Rawat stated that the Administration had been repeatedly requested through various letters to convene a meeting regarding the long-pending demands and other important issues concerning NHM employees. The protest proposed in March 2026 was also deferred following positive verbal assurances from the Administration. However, till date, neither any formal meeting has been convened nor has any concrete progress been made on the pending demands.
General Secretary Amit Kumar stated that the arrears pertaining to the previous year's salary revision and the annual increment for the current year have still not been released, resulting in widespread disappointment and resentment among employees. The Union has once again urged the Administration to take an early and positive decision on the legitimate demands of the employees. In the event of any meaningful initiative before the scheduled protest, the Union will review its future course of action accordingly. The notice regarding the proposed protest has already been communicated to all concerned senior authorities through email.
