“One Nation, One Election” Will Strengthen Governance and Development : Preneet Kaur, Jai Inder KaurPatiala/Chandigarh 27 February ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : A significant seminar on “One Nation, One Election” was held at Maharani Club, Patiala, bringing together accomplished women entrepreneurs to discuss and seek public opinion on this transformative electoral reform. The event was organized by Dr. Nidhi Bansal, with senior BJP leader and former MP Preneet Kaur and BJP Punjab Mahila Morcha President Jai Inder Kaur as the chief guests. BJP spokesperson and state convenor of the program, S.S. Channi, was also present on the occasion. Speaking at the seminar, Preneet Kaur highlighted the long-term benefits of One Nation, One Election, stating, “Frequent elections disrupt governance and development, as governments remain in continuous election mode rather than focusing on public welfare. A synchronized election system will ensure better policy implementation, reduced expenditure, and political stability, ultimately benefiting the nation.”
Expressing her strong support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, Jai Inder Kaur said, “PM Modi has taken a historic step by advocating One Nation, One Election. This reform will not only save taxpayer money but also allow governments to work efficiently without repeated electoral interruptions. India needs stability and continuity in governance, and this initiative will pave the way for a stronger democracy.” Adding to the discussion, BJP spokesperson and state convenor S.S. Channi explained, “Conducting multiple elections every year diverts administrative machinery, increases unnecessary expenditure, and affects economic growth. If elections are held simultaneously across the country, the government’s resources can be used for development rather than election management. This will also strengthen democracy by increasing voter participation and engagement.” The seminar saw the presence of several prominent personalities, including social worker Satinderpal Kaur Walia, Maharani Club President Deepak Kampani, BJP Patiala Urban President Vijay Kuka, BJP Patiala Urban Vice President Hardev Singh Bali, and senior journalist Rajesh Panjola. The event concluded with an interactive discussion where women entrepreneurs and attendees voiced their opinions, strongly supporting the idea of simultaneous elections to bring efficiency, transparency, and progress to India’s democratic framework.
