70 Artworks on Display as Apeejay Stya Art Festival 2026 begins
Chandigarh 18 February ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The four-day Apeejay Stya Art Festival 2026 – Creative Cascades commenced with its annual art exhibition at the Sobha Singh Art Gallery, Panjab Kala Bhawan, Sector 16, Chandigarh. The festival was organised under the aegis of Apeejay Education which is inspired by the farsighted vision of its Founder Chairman, Dr. Stya Paul to promote, propagate and preserve the diverse art forms of India. His belief that art should form an integral part of education for holistic and intellectual growth was reflected throughout the exhibition.
Prior to Chandigarh, the festival had been successfully hosted at Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi and Bajaj Art Gallery, Mumbai. The 2026 edition is being hosted by Chandigarh which is featuring around 70 artworks across varied media including paintings, drawings, sculptures, tapestries, graphics, mixed media and digital art.
Distinguished guests present included Dr Neerja Dhingra, Principal, Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, Dr Vijay Veer Singh, Vice Chacelllor, Apeejay Stya University, Gurugram, Gurdeep Dhiman, President, Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi; Bheem Malhotra; internationally acclaimed artist Madan Lal; noted conceptual visual photographer Diwan Manna. The exhibition is showcasing works by faculty members, researchers and students from six Apeejay institutions including Apeejay Stya University, Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Apeejay Institute of Design, Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication, Apeejay Institute of Technology, and Apeejay School International.Dr. Sucharita Sharma, Director, Apeejay Education, highlighted that the festival carried forward the rich legacy of Dr. Stya Paul, now being steered with dedication by Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia and Dr. Neha Berlia. She noted that Creative Cascades, which began in 2024, had successfully entered its third phase, receiving overwhelming appreciation from art lovers across cities. The exhibition remained open to the public from 11:00 am to 6:30 pm daily and emerged as a vibrant confluence of creativity, imagination and contemporary artistic expression. The exhibition will be formally inaugurated on Thursday by Punjab Arts Council Chairman Swaranjit Singh Savi.
