Kamal Sisodiya, Commandant 13 Battalion CRPF, conferred with “Mahila Udyami Award” by Punjab Government
Chandigarh 18 March ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Kamal Sisodiya, Commandant, 13 Battalion CRPF, has been conferred with the prestigious Mahila Udyami Award by the Government of Punjab. The award was presented by Bhagwant Mann in recognition of her outstanding contribution towards women empowerment, skill development, and vocational training.
Sisodiya has been actively working towards promoting self-reliance among women for the past 25 years. Over the years, she has trained and inspired thousands of women through skill development initiatives, leading to a significant improvement in their quality of life and enabling them to become self-reliant. Under her leadership, numerous training programmes have been conducted, including Phulkari embroidery, jutti designing, tailoring and stitching, as well as handicrafts such as Punjabi toran making and other traditional crafts. In addition, she has played a key role in organizing bee-keeping training programmes for CRPF personnel and civilians under the Government’s Honey Bee Keeping Mission, promoting entrepreneurship and sustainable income generation.
Her efforts extend beyond skill development to the welfare and rehabilitation of acid attack survivors, rape survivors, elderly persons, orphans, and divyaangs (persons with disabilities). She has also been actively involved in spreading awareness regarding women’s health and hygiene, contributing to the holistic empowerment of society. Sisodiya’s dedication and sustained efforts have brought about positive change in the lives of many, instilling confidence, dignity, and economic independence among marginalized sections. This recognition stands as a testament to her unwavering commitment towards social service, inclusive growth, and nation-building.
