Major Stir Around Gujjar Community in Punjab
Bachchu Singh Bainsla to visit Punjab on March 22
Appointment of new Punjab president likely
Chandigarh 20 March ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : National Organising Secretary of the Akhil Bharatiya Gujjar Mahasabha, Bachchu Singh Bainsla, is set to arrive in Punjab on March 22 for a two-day visit. During his stay, he is likely to meet Gulab Chand Kataria.
According to sources close to Bainsla, an important state executive meeting will also be held during the visit, where a significant announcement regarding the representation of the Gujjar community in Punjab may be made.
Notably, the Gujjar community, which constitutes nearly 9% of Punjab’s population, has long been demanding greater political and administrative participation. Any concrete decision emerging from this meeting could have a considerable impact on the state’s political landscape.
Political analysts believe that, with an eye on the 2027 Assembly elections, efforts to mobilize the Gujjar community are likely to intensify. If a new leadership figure from the community is appointed, it could play a crucial role in shaping upcoming electoral dynamics. While there has been no official confirmation of the proposed meeting yet, Bainsla has confirmed his visit, fueling discussions across political circles.
