He also demanded Rs 50 crore to Rs 70 crores annual research grant for the Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana to improve the research facilities for better agriculture. The Ludhiana MP made a strong case for providing debt relief to the small and marginal farmers through one time settlement by waiving off their interests. Chandigarh 1 March ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The two-day "C-PEX - Chandigarh Pet Expo 2026," the 79th All Breed Dog and Horse Show, and the 80th and 81st All Breeds Pointed Championship Dog Shows, concluded on Sunday at the Chandigarh Parade Ground, Sector 17, in an enthusiastic and organized atmosphere. Over 500 dogs from 30 breeds participated in the two-day event. Dog owners from across the Tricity and North India attended the dog show with their pets. Approximately 10,000 pet lovers visited the show over the two days. 

The Tibetan Mastiff (a large Tibetan breed dog) and the Pony were the highlights of the show, with almost all visitors taking photos with them. The dog show, held in the first ring, was judged by Robert L. T. Dawson of Australia and others. During this, the results were as follows:- Best in Show - German Shepherd Short Hair. Second Best in Show - Labrador Retriever. Third Best in Show - Picnic. Fourth Best in Show - Doberman. Fifth Best in Show - Beagle. Sixth Best in Show - Samoyed. Seventh Best in Show - Rottweiler and Eighth Best in Show - Golden Retriever. Its titles were awarded to Best Breed in India - Labrador Retriever, RES. Breed in India - Doberman, Best Puppy - Labrador and RES. Best Puppy - Beagle. Whereas the show held in Ring No. 2 was judged by Weng Woh Chan of Malaysia. The results of the second ring were as follows:

Cat Consults Founder and CEO Hardeep Singh and CEO Raminder Singh reported that on the final day of the dog show, along with the All Breed Dog Show, a Pet Parent Workshop was organized by SAKA. The Pet Fashion Show was a highlight. He stated that a total of 30 breeds, including small and large breeds such as the Pug, Labrador, Golden Retriever, German Shepherd, Rottweiler, Poodle, Doberman, Shih Tzu, Pomeranian, and Indian breeds, participated in the 79th All Breed Dog and Horse Show and the 80th and 81st All Breeds Pointed Championship Dog Show. He stated that the number of participants increased this year, with a large number of first-time participants.
The dog show was inaugurated on Saturday by Chandigarh Municipal Corporation Special Commissioner Pradeep Kumar. He spoke on animal welfare, responsible dog husbandry, and the role of dogs in security services. He thanked the Animal Husbandry Department for organizing the event and stated that such events promote dog culture and awareness. According to Raminder Singh, the dog show was evaluated based on breed standards and discipline. Members of the Kennel Club of India served as judges. Participating dogs were evaluated based on breed standards, health, physical structure, training, discipline, presentation, gait, and temperament. Judging rounds were conducted in various categories during the competition.
