A High-Level Haryana Committee Delegation Meets Kurukshetra SP Seeking Arrest of the Accused in the Meeri Peeri Incident
Kurkshetra 03 April ( PDL ) : On April 2, at the main office of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee located at Gurdwara Sahib Patshahi Chhevin, Kurukshetra, the office bearers and members of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee paid their respects at the Gurdwara Sahib. Afterwards, a press conference was held at the main office where the entire Sikh Sangat was informed about the current situation of Meeri Peeri Medical College and Hospital, Shahbad Markanda.It was explained how the Badal family allegedly created a trust consisting of their family members and close associates and illegally occupied the land of the Gurdwara Sahib through that trust. It was stated that this matter would soon be resolved legally and brought under the management of the Haryana Committee.
On March 20, when the office bearers and members of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee reached Meeri Peeri Medical College and Hospital, Shahbad Markanda, they were allegedly attacked by supporters of the Badal faction and the Shiromani Committee. The attack was reportedly carried out at the instigation of Shiromani Committee Senior Vice President Raghujeet Singh Virk and Shiromani Committee member Baldev Singh Kiyampur. During the incident, turbans were thrown off and the hospital atmosphere was disturbed through slogan shouting.
A case has been registered against 20 accused persons on March 28 at Shahbad Markanda Police Station under case number 137. The case has been registered under strict provisions of the BNS sections 299/351(3)/190/191(2)/115.To ensure strict action against the accused, a high-level delegation of the Haryana Committee met Kurukshetra SP Mr. Chandra Mohan today. The delegation provided detailed information about the March 20 incident at Meeri Peeri Hospital and demanded strict legal action against those responsible.
While addressing the Sangat, Jathedar Baljit Singh Daduwal said that they have received information that the President of the Shiromani Committee, Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, will be visiting Meeri Peeri Hospital in Shahbad Markanda on the 7th. He said it would be commendable if Dhami himself relinquishes the illegal control and hands over the management keys to the Haryana Committee and the Sikh Sangat of Haryana. He further said that if this happens, they will honor Sardar Dhami during his return visit at Gurdwara Manji Bawali Sahib, Ambala by presenting him with a Siropa as a mark of respect for returning Haryana’s rightful control with dignity.
At the Haryana Committee’s main office today, hundreds of distinguished individuals from across Haryana participated and strongly voiced that Meeri Peeri Medical College and Hospital should be handed over to the Haryana Committee. They stated that the alleged control of the Badal faction is illegal and action must be taken against those responsible. All present office bearers and members of the Haryana Committee appealed to the remaining committee members and office bearers to leave the Badal faction and stand courageously for the rights of Haryana. Otherwise, Sikh Sangats of the region will unite and encourage members to stand in support of Haryana’s rightful claim.
