Badal Family Should Immediately Stop the Loot of Crores at Miri-Piri Medical Hospital and Hand Over Management to the Haryana Committee : Haryana Committee Leaders
“Remove Badal, Save Miri-Piri College for the Haryana Committee” representative gathering will be held on 12 April at Gurdwara Dadu Sahib
Ambala 08 April ( PDL ) : Miri-Piri Medical College and Hospital, located at Gurdwara Mastgarh Sahib, Shahabad Markanda, has been built on 21 acres of land. It is alleged that the Badal family, through the Shiromani Committee, has formed a private trust of their family members and close associates and has illegally taken control of the institution, looting crores of rupees while misleading the Sikh community. This disgraceful activity should be stopped immediately and the Badal family should hand over the management of Miri-Piri Hospital and College to the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC), as Gurdwara Mastgarh Sahib is now being managed by the Haryana Committee. These views were expressed in a written press note issued after a meeting of Sikh representatives of Haryana and members and office-bearers of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee held today at Surya School, Ambala. The meeting regarding the ongoing issue of the management of Miri-Piri Medical College and Hospital was organized by Advocate Gurtej Singh Ambala, a young member of the Haryana Committee from Ambala.
On hearing about the arrival of Jathedar Baljit Singh Daduwal in Ambala, there was great enthusiasm among the Sikh community in nearby areas, and the meeting turned into a large gathering. Among those present were HSGMC Senior Vice President Gurmeet Singh Ramsar, Junior Vice President Gurbir Singh Talakour, Chairman of Dharam Prachar Jathedar Baljit Singh Daduwal, Senior Member Didar Singh Nalvi, Senior Member Bibi Kartar Kaur Shahabad Markanda, Member Jathedar Swaran Singh Bunga Tibbi (Panchkula), Member Rajinder Brara, Sarpanch Bhupinder Singh Ladi (President Representative), Bibi Kapoor Kaur Saunkra, Member Jathedar Baldev Singh Habri (Kaithal), former General Secretary Jathedar Sukhwinder Singh Mandeber, former member Kabal Singh Virk, and former member Inderjit Singh Wasdeva. All the leaders unanimously said that the illegal gathering held on 7 April at Miri-Piri Medical College and Hospital by the Badal faction, in which the Sikh community of Haryana was challenged, will be answered peacefully and through legal means by the Sikh community of Haryana and the Haryana Committee. The leaders and the Sikh community present in the meeting said that earlier on 20 March, supporters of the Badal faction created chaos with slogans and disturbances at the Miri-Piri College and Hospital, damaging the peaceful environment. They also allegedly carried out a life-threatening attack on HSGMC Junior Vice President Gurbir Singh Talakour, threw off his turban, and pushed Sikh devotees engaged in reciting Naam. They said the perpetrators of this crime will surely face consequences. The Haryana Government and police administration had registered FIR No. 137 on 28 March against those responsible for the attack of 20 March after investigation, but despite many days passing, none of the accused have been arrested. Leaders questioned why the Haryana Police is showing leniency towards the supporters of the Badal faction who allegedly attacked the hospital and disrupted peaceful discussions regarding the management. The attack was allegedly carried out under the leadership of Narainu Mahant, SGPC Senior Vice President Raghujeet Singh Virk, and member Puhla Baldev Singh Kiampur. They said that CCTV footage of the hospital from 20 March and video clips circulating on social media clearly identify the accused, yet their arrests are being delayed. This delay in taking action has caused great anger among the Sikh community of Haryana and the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee.
The leaders stated that now is the time for all members supporting the Haryana Committee to unite and take over the management of their institution, Miri-Piri Medical College and Hospital. They added that members of the Haryana Committee should not remain subservient to the anti-Panth Badal family. The Sikh leaders and community also strongly condemned the language used on 7 March at the Miri-Piri Medical College and Hospital complex by SGPC President Dhami and other speakers allegedly aligned with the Badal family, saying derogatory remarks were made out of jealousy against renowned Sikh preachers. The Sikh leaders announced that on Sunday, 12 April, from 12 noon to 3 PM at Gurdwara Guru Granthsar Dadu Sahib, a Panthic gathering of about 500–700 representative Sikhs from across Haryana will be held under the slogan “Remove Badal, Save Miri-Piri College for the Haryana Committee.” During the meeting, Jathedar Baljit Singh Daduwal also presented ₹2 lakh in cash from his family’s Sukh Seva Simran Trust to Arpandeep Singh of Kaithal, a Sikh student who topped the 12th class in a government school in Haryana, to support his higher education. A large number of representatives from various gurdwaras, sabhas, and societies of Ambala also attended the meeting, including Angrez Singh Khanpur, Ram Singh Sandhu Mohri, Naib Singh Sandhu, Kala Baba Bhanokheri, Trilochan Singh Balana, Darshan Singh (President, Gurdwara Singh Sabha Sainik Vihar Jandli), Gurdial Singh Lamba (Secretary, Singh Sabha Dhulkot Colony), Jathedar Rajinder Singh Bakala, Gurlal Singh Rattak, Nirvair Singh Rattak, Bhupinder Singh Chakku Ladana, Lakhwinder Singh Satgoli, Honey Singh Ambala, and Sukhwinder Singh Bitta.
