Chandigarh 17 April ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The National Hindu Shakti Sangathan (RHSS), Chandigarh, has strongly supported the bill introduced under the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, which provides 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. RHSS President Monika Bhardwaj termed it a historic law and said that it is a major step towards ensuring gender equality in politics and promoting women-led development.
She further stated that currently, women’s representation in the Lok Sabha is around 15%, which will increase to 33% after the implementation of this law. Increased participation of women at higher levels of politics will help change the traditional male-dominated mindset and enhance respect for women in society. Young women will feel encouraged to enter politics and public roles by seeing women in leadership positions, which will help in building a more inclusive and equitable society.
Monika Bhardwaj added that greater women leadership will boost women’s contribution across all sectors of the economy, including industry and trade. According to her, this bill not only protects women’s rights but is also essential for achieving the goal of making India a “developed nation” by 2047. She expressed deep gratitude to the government for taking this revolutionary step in the interest of women. She also stated that every section of society welcomes this bill. According to the organization’s state president, this law constitutionally reinforces the status of women as “Shakti” in Indian culture and will prove to be a milestone in the overall development of the nation
