Patiala/Chandigarh 22 May ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Punjab Subordinate Services Federation (1406/22B) In line with the decision of the state committee of the Forest Workers Union Punjab, the only umbrella organization of forest workers related to Chandigarh, to submit a demand letter to the government on May 22, today, the Forest Workers Union held a huge protest dharna in front of the office of the Forest Division Patiala, Wildlife Division Patiala under the chairmanship of Division President Jaswinder Singh Sauja, Ser Singh Sirhind, Jagtar Singh Sahpur, Bhupinder Singh Sadhoheri and Joga Singh Wajidpur. Despite the scorching heat, a large number of forest workers armed with their flags, mottos and banners reached this dharna with full enthusiasm and slogans.
Addressing the protest, Punjab Subordinate Services Federation leaders Darshan Singh Belumajra, Jasvir Singh Khokhar, Dharampal Singh Lot and Rajpal Lasoi said that the Punjab government is not making permanent the workers who have been working in the Forest and Wildlife Department for 30/30 years. By making only one placement policy, they are making a cruel joke with the forest workers by giving them work in the department for 58 years at a salary of 15 thousand. The families of the forest workers are worried because the delivery workers in the department have not received their salaries for the last three months. The government, which promised to hire people, has not made a single forest worker permanent despite the passage of almost 4 years, due to which there is huge resentment and unrest among the forest workers. The forest workers staged a protest in front of the office of the Forest Divisional Officer, Patiala and the Honorable IFS Van Pal South Circle, Patiala and The demand letter was sent to the Punjab government through the Honorable Forest Divisional Officer, Wildlife, Patiala and the Forest Divisional Officer, Patiala. They decided that if the government did not pay salaries to the forest and wildlife workers, did not terminate the long-term illiterate workers working in the forest and wildlife department and did not make the raw workers permanent by ending their 10-year continuous service and did not resolve other demands, then on June 10, a massive protest will be held in the Bhoa constituency of the Punjab Forest Minister and a flag march will be held. Among others who participated in this protest were Naresh Kumar Bosar, Bhinder Ghagga, Swaranjit Singh, Jaswant Singh, Mahinder Singh Kath Matthi, Jeet Khan, Gurdev Kaur, Gurmail Singh Bishanpura, Balkar Singh Bathoi, Inderjit Kaur Chupki, Jaspal Kaur, Amarjit Kaur, Jasvir Kaur, Kuldeep Singh, Hakam Khan, Budh Singh, Satnam Singh Sauja, Harcharan Singh, Gurjit Singh, Jasvir Kaur, Kuldeep Kaur Mangewal etc.
