National Human Rights and Social Justice Council of India (Chandigarh) Celebrates Labour Day
Workers Sensitized Regarding Their Rights
Chandigarh 1 May ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : On the occasion of International Labour Day, the National Human Rights and Social Justice Council of India (Chandigarh Chapter) celebrated the day at Labour Chowk by raising awareness among fellow workers regarding their rights. The event was organized under the chairmanship of Vice Chairman Manav Sharma, in accordance with the directives of the Chandigarh President, S.A. Khan. Manav Sharma stated that Labour Day—also known as International Workers' Day—is observed annually on May 1st; it is a day dedicated to the rights, dignity, and struggles of the working class.
Labour Day is not merely a single day on the calendar, but a symbol of the struggles and self-respect of the millions of workers who have dedicated their lives to nation-building. This day serves as a significant occasion to foster equality within society and to express gratitude towards the workers who are rightly regarded as the backbone of economic progress. Present on this occasion were General Secretary Zeeshan-ul-Haq, the organization's Finance Secretary Sanjeev Kapoor, State Coordinator Rakesh Sharma, Gulshan Verma, State Joint Secretary Randeep Singh Saharan, and Media Secretary Ajay Chaudhary.
