Memorandum submitted to the Mayor seeking resolution of Ward No. 41's issues ahead of the monsoon; demands raised for rainwater drainage and the cleaning of drains and parks : Gurpreet Kaur Ubha
Chandigarh 17 June ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Gurpreet Kaur Ubha, Councilor of Ward No. 41, Mohali, and her husband, BJP leader Hardev Singh Ubha, today drew the attention of Honorable Mayor Sarabjit Singh to key issues in the ward by submitting a detailed memorandum. They stated that the administration must take immediate action in view of the upcoming monsoon season to ensure residents do not face any inconvenience during the rains.
Gurpreet Kaur Ubha highlighted that residents of the areas falling under the ward—including Sambhalki village, Nanu Majra, Preet City (Sector 86), Wave Estate (Sector 85), and Sector 88—have long been grappling with broken roads, poor sanitation, street lighting issues, ill-maintained parks, inadequate sewerage systems, and a lack of other basic amenities.
She noted that rainwater drainage becomes a major challenge during the monsoon season. Therefore, she urged for the immediate cleaning of drains and storm-water channels, the identification of waterlogging-prone areas for permanent solutions, and the assurance of robust arrangements for rainwater drainage. She emphasized that the administration should make full preparations prior to the monsoon, keeping public safety and health in mind, to avoid any untoward situations.
Gurpreet Kaur Ubha said, "My sole objective is to resolve the people's problems and ensure the all-round development of Ward No. 41. I hope the administration will take prompt and effective action on these demands." She added that serving the public is her priority and she will continue to raise every issue faced by the ward residents with the utmost seriousness.
