Controller of Communication Accounts, Punjab, in collaboration with PGIMER, organized a Blood Donation Camp
Chandigarh 10 June ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The office of Controller of Communication Accounts, Punjab, the Nodal Office of the Ministry of Communications, Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Government of India, organized a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with the Blood Bank, PGIMER, Chandigarh, at office of Controller of Communication Accounts, Doorsanchar Bhawan, Chandigarh on June 10, 2026, in connection with the observance of World Blood Donor Day 2026.
The Camp was inaugurated by Vijendera N. Tandon, Controller of Communication Accounts, Punjab, who highlighted the importance of Voluntary blood donation and described it as a noble act of service to humanity. He encouraged officers and staff members to actively participate in such social welfare initiatives and contribute towards saving precious lives. Officers and employees of the CCA office enthusiastically participated in the camp and voluntarily donated blood demonstrating their commitment towards this humanitarian cause. A total of 27 units of blood were collected during the camp.
The team from PGIMER Blood Bank conducted the donation process and Dr. R. R. Sharma, Professor had Head of Department of Transfusion Medicine, PGIMER and State Blood Transfusion council U.T. Chandigarh, acknowledged and appreciated the participation of office as Social Service to Mankind. The Blood donors were presented “Certificates of Appreciation” in recognition of their valuable service to society. The event reflected the commitment of the Office of Controller of Communication Accounts, Punjab, towards social responsibility and public welfare. The collected blood will help strengthen blood reserves and support requiring life-saving transfusions.
