CPI(M) Punjab State Committee Meeting Completed

Left parties and CPI(M) are the main enemies of communal fascists, corporates and imperialist forces : Comrade Basu

Aam Aadmi Party's stand on Punjab's political issues is ambiguous : Comrade Sekhon

Chandigarh 5 May ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : CPI(M) Polit Bureau Member and party's Punjab in-charge Comrade Nilotpal Basu said that the alliance of communal fascists, corporates and imperialist forces in the country is targeting the communists, especially the CPI(M) as their main enemy. To confront these forces, a large and strong movement of workers, farmers and the downtrodden people of the society will have to be built. This movement of the working people will only confront the new fascism emerging in the country. Comrade Basu was here for the state committee meeting of CPI(M). He was accompanied by Comrade K.N. Umesh, a member of the party's central secretariat. The meeting was chaired by Comrade Gurnek Singh Bhajjal. At the beginning of the meeting, a two-minute silence was observed to pay tribute to the departed comrades.

The communist leader said that America is targeting countries like Iran, Palestine, Venezuela through imperialism without any reason and is struggling to get itself out of the economic crisis, while this is not possible. He said that the Prime Minister of our country has made India a puppet of America and instead of Prime Minister Modi, the President of America is taking decisions regarding India, as a result of which the country's economy is continuously falling. The value of the rupee against the dollar is decreasing day by day. There is a huge increase in inflation, corruption, poverty, unemployment etc. in the country. Comrade Basu said that right-wing forces are getting stronger in the country and the world and have succeeded in seizing power in many states. Only communist parties can fight against these forces by drawing a line. In this regard, communist activists need to go door to door, including the courtyards, settlements, streets of the poor, and organize them under the leadership of various organizations by making the people of these sections ideologically aware.

The communist leader sharply criticized the Modi government and said that the central government is continuously increasing the prices of inflation and petroleum products on the common people to please its favorite corporate houses. As a result, the poor and middle class people are facing a huge economic blow. He said that a huge increase is being made in the prices of diesel, fertilizers, pesticides, agricultural implements, etc. related to agriculture. The country's farmers are already badly trapped in the net of debt. There are no employment opportunities for unemployed youth. Inappropriate comments towards these youth are creating a wave of anger. The youth of the country are falling prey to drugs and other evil misguidance. Comrade Basu stressed on the youth of the country to take inspiration from the warriors who liberated the country like Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Kartar Singh Sarabha and Udham Singh and fight to bring a state system free from loot and with a socialist system in the country.

On this occasion, CPI(M) State Secretary Comrade Sukhwinder Singh Sekhon while presenting the political report of Punjab said that the current Bhagwant Mann government has not made any effort to resolve the political demands and issues of Punjab, rather the Aam Aadmi Party has always adopted a two-pronged approach on these issues. The Chief Minister of Punjab has never presented serious demands and issues related to Punjab to the Center. He said that the law and order situation in Punjab is deteriorating day by day. After the killing of renowned sportspersons and Sarpanches, the murder of a Punjab Police Assistant Superintendent of Police from Majitha area in broad daylight raises a question mark on the government's working style. The communist leader said that according to the Punjab government, about 1200 bad people are active in about 60 groups of gangsters in the state. Their contacts are linked to gangsters sitting abroad and Khalistani terrorists. He expressed doubts that in the future the said gangster groups can revive the movement of terrorism and separatism in the state.

Raising the issues of illegal sand and gravel mining, unemployment, drugs especially white drugs, corruption, rigging in the Municipal Council/Panchayat elections, economic crisis of Punjab, he said that the Punjab government has failed miserably on every front including the above issues and the Punjab bureaucracy is doing arbitrariness and the common people are not being heard in any department office. On this occasion, Comrade K.N. Umesh, Central Secretariat Member of CPIM, while speaking in the meeting, said that the workers' movement that has arisen and emerged in areas near the country's capital like Noida, Manesar, Panipat etc. has told the ruling party that the workers will not tolerate their exploitation. He said that this movement has exposed the ruthless exploitation of the workers, bad working conditions and serious economic hardship. He said that the workers were being exploited by being paid meager wages of Rs. 10,000 and made to work for 12 hours. He said that the fight against the four labor codes will have to be intensified and the struggle for the restoration of labor laws will have to be intensified.

On this occasion, the party's State Secretary Comrade Sukhwinder Singh Sekhon said that the 18th death anniversary of international communist leader Comrade Harkishan Singh Surjit Ji will be celebrated on August 1 at Bhakna Bhawan, Chandigarh.
