Dinesh Rawat won the GMCH-32 MTS-Ward Attendant Contractor Worker Union election by 32 votes.
Chandigarh 23 June ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The election for the post of President of the MTS/Ward Attendant Contractor Workers Union was held peacefully, freely, and fairly today at GMCH Sector 32, Chandigarh. Dinesh Rawat and his team faced off against Satnam Singh and his team for the post of President. A close contest was witnessed between the two panels. A total of 476 workers exercised their franchise, with Dinesh Rawat's team receiving 254 votes and Satnam Singh's team receiving 222 votes. Thus, Dinesh Rawat's team was declared victorious by a margin of 32 votes.
Vikram Singh, the union's former press secretary, said that after the results were announced, all the workers, demonstrating democratic spirit, welcomed and honored both Dinesh Rawat and Satnam Singh's team with garlands. On this occasion, all union members resolved to put aside their differences and work unitedly for the interests, welfare, and rights of all outsourcing workers.The election process was conducted under the able leadership and vigilant supervision of the Chandigarh Police Administration. The police administration played a commendable role in ensuring the entire election process was smooth, transparent, and fair, allowing all members to cast their votes freely and without fear, pressure, or obstruction. All party workers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the police administration. Newly elected President Dinesh Rawat thanked all the colleagues and said that the main objective of the union is to ensure unity, respect and better future of all MTS/Ward Attendant personnel.
