Gurjeet Singh Talwandi Appointed Party Observer for Chandigarh
Chandigarh 18 June ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The President of Shiromani Akali Dal (Punar Surjeet), Giani Harpreet Singh, stated in a press release that a special meeting was held today in Chandigarh with senior veteran Akali leaders. The meeting was attended by Gurpartap Singh Riar, former President of Shiromani Akali Dal Chandigarh; Mahinder Singh, former Deputy Mayor of Chandigarh; and Amrinder Singh, former Member of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC).
During the meeting, detailed deliberations were held on the political, social, and Panthic issues concerning Chandigarh. By mutual consensus, it was decided to establish an active and functional unit of Shiromani Akali Dal (Punar Surjeet) in the Union Territory and to participate actively in all forthcoming elections in Chandigarh, including the Municipal Corporation elections.
Giani Harpreet Singh said that the veteran leaders extended a warm welcome to the party delegation and assured their full support and cooperation. He further stated that the meeting was organised with the objective of bringing all Panthic forces together under the Nishan Sahib.The party’s General Secretary and Chief Spokesperson, Gurjeet Singh Talwandi, was also part of the delegation. On this occasion, he was formally appointed as the Party Observer for Chandigarh.
