Chandigarh 20 June ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today said attempts by the ruling Aam Admi Party (AAP) to spread a false narrative regarding Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s deposition at Sri Akal Takht Sahib and its attempt to stage dharnas against the Shiromani Akali Dal had boomeranged. Addressing a press conference here, SAD Chief Spokesman Arshdeep Singh Kler said AAP had attempted to gherao and stage protest at district headquarters of the SAD but its attempts failed miserably as they could not muster support of requisite numbers despite help from the police force. He said the videos emerging from different districts of the state had made it clear that only a meagre number of AAP workers assembled on the call of the party making the entire attempt a flop show. Chandigarh 19 June ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Working Committee today condemned chief minister Bhagwant Mann for challenging the authority of Sri Akal Takht Sahib in public forums while asserting this was hurting the religious feelings of the people. The Working Committee, which met under the president ship of SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal, noted that the chief minister was deliberately creating fissures in the Sikh community. It said there was an overwhelming feeling in the community that Bhagwant Mann had not only committed a heinous crime against the Guru Sahiban but was compounding his sins by challenging Sri Akal Takht Sahib which had pointed out the same with due evidence.
Giving details senior party leader Dr Daljit Singh Cheema said the Working Committee passed a resolution demanding the immediate resignation of the chief minister. He said the Working Committee also discussed how the chief minister was trying to cover up his sins by presenting self procured reports from laboratories within 24 hours after Sri Akal Takht ruled that the blasphemous video of the chief minister was real and was not a work of artificial intelligence. “In such a situation Bhagwant Mann does not deserve to remain in his chair for even one minute more”, he added.
Later party president Sukhbir Singh Badal also discussed the issue with Shiromani Committee members. The members said the chief minister had tried to befool the Sikh Sangat by claiming the controversial video depicting him was generated through Artificial Intelligence. They said Sri Akal Takht only got the video verified forensically after the chief minister failed to do the same for five months despite reminders from the Takht.Meanwhile earlier the Working Committee reviewed the organisation structure with particular emphasis on booth level committees. The SAD president said the entire organization structure should be complete in another fortnight. The Working Committee also took note of the unprovoked lathi charge and suppression of democratic protests by the AAP government besides the complete breakdown in the law and order situation.
