AAP Government Failed to Recover Thousands of Crores in GMADA Dues : Balbir Sidhu S.A.S.Nagar 16 June ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Former Punjab Health Minister and senior Congress leader Balbir Singh Sidhu has questioned the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, stating that while it continues to burden Punjab with increasing debt, it has completely failed to recover outstanding government dues from major real estate developers. Sidhu said that nearly 20 real estate promoters have failed to pay more than ₹1,000 crore in government dues. All these projects are located in Mohali and fall under the jurisdiction of GMADA. Most notably, the list of defaulters reportedly includes Janta Land Promoters, linked to AAP MLA Kulwant Singh from Mohali, with outstanding dues of approximately ₹152 crore. He said that when ordinary citizens are subjected to strict recovery measures for electricity bills, water bills, taxes, and other government dues, it raises serious questions as to why crores of rupees...

Kapurthala 16 June ( PDL ) : Pushpa Gujral Science City celebrated Nature Photography Day by organizing an exhibition on “Nature Photography” to create awareness about the importance of nature and its positive impact on mental and physical well-being. The exhibition showcased a captivating collection of photographs featuring birds, wildlife and natural landscapes, offering visitors a glimpse into the beauty and diversity of the natural world. The display highlighted the richness of biodiversity and encouraged visitors to appreciate and conserve nature. Students, teachers and nature enthusiasts attended the exhibition and appreciated the initiative for promoting environmental awareness and a deeper connection with nature.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rajesh Grover, Director, Pushpa Gujral Science City said that Nature Photography Day, observed annually on June 16, celebrates the beauty of nature through the lens of photography while inspiring people to appreciate and protect the environment. He said  that nature photography is a powerful tool for documenting biodiversity, understanding environmental changes and promoting conservation awareness. The visitors, admired the stunning photographs and were sensitized to the importance of preserving nature and safeguarding natural ecosystems for future generations.
