Immediate Cleaning of Dense Bushes and Unwanted Vegetation Demanded; Area Should Be Developed as a Playground for Children: Rajbir Singh Bharti, Subhash Dhiman and Arvind Singh
Chandigarh 1 September ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The jungle-like area stretching from the main gate of the school located in Pocket No. 8, Sector-13, Mani Majra, towards Darshani Bagh and further up to Mansa Devi Road has become a matter of concern for the safety and health of local residents, particularly women and school-going children, due to dense bushes and unwanted vegetation. In this regard, Rajbir Singh Bharti, President, All Mani Majra Residents and Welfare Association, Sector-13, Chandigarh, Chairman Subhash Dhiman, and Social Worker Arvind Singh have demanded immediate cleaning of the entire area and removal of the dense bushes by the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation and Forest Department.
They stated that dense bushes can provide cover for suspicious activities, creating a sense of insecurity among residents. Moreover, the accumulation of garbage in the area increases the risk of mosquito breeding and the spread of other insects and pests. The situation becomes even more serious during the rainy season. Demand to Develop the Area as a Playground for Children Rajbir Singh Bharti, Subhash Dhiman and Arvind Singh demanded that after clearing and cleaning the area, it should not simply be left vacant. Instead, serious consideration should be given to developing the site as a safe and properly maintained playground/public sports area for the children of Mani Majra.
They appealed to the Chandigarh Administration, Municipal Corporation, Forest Department and concerned authorities to conduct an immediate site inspection and ensure proper cleaning, regular maintenance and adequate security arrangements in the area.
