Launch of two significant development projects worth approximately ₹45 lakh in Sector 42-C

Chandigarh 2 September ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Two significant development projects were launched today in Sector 42-C (Ward No. 24), addressing the long-standing demands of local residents. These projects will help further improve roads, drainage, sanitation, and public amenities in the area. Work began with the installation of new curbs, channels, and paver blocks, as well as repairs, near Mango Park. On this occasion, Pandey Ji formally inaugurated the project by breaking a coconut, while Yashoda Sharma congratulated Councilor Jasbir Singh Bunty and extended her best wishes by garlanding him.

Regarding this project, SDO Sahil Thakur stated that the work is targeted for completion within approximately two months at a cost of around ₹36 lakh. The project involves laying approximately 400 meters of new paver blocks, constructing kerbs and channels, and carrying out necessary repairs. This will improve rainwater drainage and enhance the roadside infrastructure in the area. Subsequently, the repair and renovation work of the public toilet block in the Sector 42-C market was inaugurated. On this occasion, Market President Ajay Arora inaugurated the project by breaking a coconut, while Devinder Sharma formally launched the work by cutting the ribbon.
In this regard, Junior Engineer Dheeraj Kumar stated that approximately ₹9 lakh would be spent on the repair and renovation of the public toilet. Under this initiative, essential new amenities and fittings—including a new flush system—will be installed to ensure clean and improved facilities for market visitors, shopkeepers, and local residents. Both development projects were inaugurated in the distinguished presence of Jasbir Singh Bunty, former Senior Deputy Mayor of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation and Councilor for Ward No. 24.
On this occasion, Jasbir Singh Bunty stated that improving basic civic amenities in every part of Ward No. 24 is his priority. He added that continuous efforts are being made to execute development works related to roads, drainage, sanitation, and public facilities on a priority basis. He stated that development works are meaningful only when the general public directly benefits from them. Every possible effort will continue to be made to carry out necessary development projects in the future, while taking into account the problems and suggestions of the local residents. Sanjay Sen (General Secretary, RWA Sector 42-C), Ajay Arora (Ramsons, Sector 42-C Market), Ashok Goyal, Raju Tiwari, Ramesh Kumar, Raju Garg, S.K. Bansal, Pradeep Kumar, Bhuvnesh Bhatti, Bharat Bhushan Gupta (Supervisor), RWA office-bearers, members of the Market Association, and a large number of local residents were present on this occasion.
