Shiromani Akali Dal (Punar Surjeet) submits memorandum to Governor of Punjab on pending Panthic, constitutional and agricultural issues Chandigarh 14 June ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : A senior delegation of the Shiromani Akali Dal (Punar Surjeet) today met Hon’ble Governor of Punjab, Gulab Chand Kataria at Raj Bhavan, Chandigarh. The delegation submitted a detailed memorandum drawing the Governor’s urgent attention towards a range of critical issues concerning the Sikh Panth, Punjab’s constitutional and federal rights, farmers, labourers, and the state’s economy. The memorandum demands comprehensive amendments to the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar (Amendment) Act, 2026 after proper consultation with Sikh institutions. It calls upon the Government of India to formally apologise in Parliament for the 1984 genocide, to declare Indira Gandhi as the main culprit, and to rename Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport after Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji.
