Also slams CM Bhagwant Mann, saying that CM himself has set an example of insulting women

Chandigarh 27 February ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Youth Akali Dal President Sarabjit Singh Jhinjer today lashed out at Aam Aadmi Party’s Rampura Phul MLA Balkar Singh Sidhu for making derogatory remarks against women. He also questioned the silence of senior Aam Aadmi Party leaders, including CM Bhagwant Mann and Punjab Women Commission Chairperson Raj Lali Gill. Jhinjer was reacting to a viral audio clip of MLA Balkar Singh, where he can be heard saying that party workers leave their wives with him for his use and to spend the night with him. He can also be heard swearing and abusing in the recording. In a Facebook Live video, Jhinjer said, “This is the real mindset of Aam Aadmi Party and its MLAs. For them, women are objects to be traded, and they even go on to make derogatory remarks about their own party workers’ wives. The remarks made by MLA Balkar Singh are absolutely unacceptable, and strict action should have been taken against him. But instead of doing that, the AAP government has filed a false case against journalist Maninderjeet Singh, who exposed the real face of the AAP MLA, which I strongly condemn.” He further questioned the silence of Punjab Women Commission Chairperson Raj Lali Gill, saying, “It is shocking to see the silence of Punjab Women Commission Chairperson Raj Lali Gill. Usually, she is very active when it comes to incidents involving persons from other parties, but now, when a sitting MLA has made such derogatory remarks against women, she has kept her mouth shut. I urge her to take cognizance of the matter and take action against the MLA; otherwise, she will also lose all respect, and it will be clear that she is just a puppet in the hands of the Aam Aadmi Party government.” Further lashing out at the CM, Jhinjer said, “The silence of the Punjab government and Aam Aadmi Party on this issue is not even surprising, as the CM himself is known to mistreat women after overdrinking. There is news of CM Bhagwant Mann misbehaving with a lady SHO a couple of days ago after getting drunk during his visit to Chohal Dam. If the CM of the party behaves like this, then nothing better can be expected from its other leaders. Earlier, even lady MPs had complained about Bhagwant Mann coming to the Lok Sabha drunk. I’m amazed that Punjabis have chosen such a drunkard to lead the state.” He further added, “I am sure that instead of taking any action against MLA Balkar Singh, he will be shielded and later rewarded for his actions—just like the case in Delhi, where their own Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal was mistreated in the CM’s house by Arvind Kejriwal’s close aide Bibhav Kumar, who was later brought into Punjab CM’s house to run the show in Punjab.” The Youth Akali Dal President warned the Aam Aadmi Party to dismiss MLA Balkar Singh Sidhu, or Shiromani Akali Dal will be forced to hold massive protests against them all over Punjab.
